We want to make sure you love your OCEANlab surf hat. If something's not right, here's how we can help.
30-Day Change of Mind Returns
If you're not happy with your purchase, you can return it within 30 days of receiving your order, provided:
- The hat is unworn, unwashed, and in original condition
- Tags and packaging are still attached
- You have proof of purchase
Refunds for change-of-mind returns are processed to your original payment method, excluding original shipping costs.
How to Return
- Email us at hello@oceanlab.surf with your order number and reason for return.
- We'll confirm the return address and next steps.
- Once we receive and inspect the hat, we'll process your refund.
Exchanges
At this stage, we handle exchanges as a return + new order. Return your original hat for a refund, then place a new order for the colour you'd prefer.
Faulty or Incorrect Items
If your hat arrives damaged, faulty, or we've sent the wrong item, please contact us as soon as possible so we can sort a replacement or refund quickly, including reimbursement of reasonable shipping costs where applicable.
This is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, which continue to apply for a reasonable period beyond any timeframe mentioned on this page.
FAQ
What size are your surf hats?
All current OCEANlab hats are one size — 58 cm — with an adjustable rear bungee and chin strap for a secure, customisable fit. This size fits most teens and adults. A kids' collection is in development.
Can I wear them for swimming and surfing?
Yes. Our hats are designed with surfing and time in the water in mind. They're lightweight, quick-drying, and feature a secure chin strap to help keep them in place during surf sessions.
How do I care for my OCEANlab hat?
Rinse your hat with fresh water after use in saltwater and allow it to air dry. Avoid machine washing or exposing it to high heat to help maintain the fabric, shape, and performance.
